Danny Sullivan group are the 1st UK labour supplier to achieve CITB be fair accreditation
Danny Sullivan Group are extremely proud to be the 1st UK Labour Supplier to achieve the CITB Be Fair accreditation. The Be Fair accreditation embeds Fairness, Inclusion and Respect at the heart of the business and sets the standard for Equality and Diversity in the UK Construction Industry. We aspire to be a key driver for positive change in the industry, where all employees are respected and treated fairly, and this is demonstrated through our award.
The accreditation has been a company-wide effort and we are thrilled with the positive engagement from our Directors through to our site employees. Managing Director, Timothy O’Sullivan has expressed his pride and enthusiasm for the award; “I am committed, as are my staff, to work across the supply chain to make sure that positive change is industry wide, and that the culture within construction is always improving and that it is a welcoming industry for diverse and talented people”.
The Be Fair accreditation is specifically tailored to the construction industry and requires companies to pass 5 key modules; Commitment, Policies and Procedures, Employment, Site Environment and Supply Chain. This is achieved through a combination of audited documentary evidence and interviews taking place between an assessor and site and office staff regarding their engagement and experience with the scheme.
Our DSG Be Fair Steering Group, formed in 2018, are key to maintaining the progress we have made and to finding new ways to support and increase the number of people from under-represented groups in the construction industry. We also now have over 150 Be Fair Ambassadors who are essential to communicating the Be Fair message across our workforce and to upholding the values of Danny Sullivan Group.
Becoming accredited against the framework has enabled us to improve our policies and procedures, empower and equip our workforce, and take a proactive approach to attracting new workers in the face of an industry skills shortage.
The Be Fair accreditation gives us confidence that we are doing the right thing as an organisation, not just for our employees, but for the whole Supply Chain that we are a part of. We look forward to collaborating with our Supply Chain Partners to continue this work and share best practice in the future.
