Danny Sullivan Group Fundraise for The Outside Project, UK’s 1st LGBTIQ+ Homeless Shelter
Danny Sullivan Group have been celebrating Pride month this June by hosting a Pride themed Bake Sale and Raffle to raise money for The Outside Project, the UK’s 1st LGBTIQ+ Crisis/Homeless Shelter & Community Centre.
We held our Bake Sale on 17th June 2019 and we are thrilled to have raised £500.00 for the charity to support the inspiring work they are doing to help LGBTIQ+ people who have experienced rough sleeping, temporary or long-term homelessness, marginalisation or isolation.
The Outside Project were granted funding from Sadiq Khan as part of his Rough Sleeping Innovation Fund to help the organisation get up and running but support is still needed to make this work possible.
The charity’s Project Director, Carla Ecola, has emphasised how important support and donations are for the project and the difference this makes to the lives of the people they work with – “[the donation] will make a massive difference. We are a small organisation still finding our feet. This donation will cover supporting our guests to attend Pride events this summer. Some have never been before, and it is so important for them to participate and be visible.”
As part of Pride month, the Danny Sullivan Group have also been running Lunch and Learn sessions around the history of the Pride Parade and the issues LGBTIQ+ people face in the workplace and society at large. We are also looking forward to walking in the London Pride Parade on 6th July and standing with the Community and Allies.
Thank you to our generous staff at the Danny Sullivan Group for making this a company effort and if you would like to donate to the charity or learn more about the work they are doing please visit;
